    Explorers

For the last five years the Foundation has provided support to the Explorer Program.  Over the years some 300 young adults have participated in the Explorer Program. The program includes a mini-police academy, competitions, ceremonies, week-long camp experiences and service programs.

Learning for Life is a major component of the program and teaches students life skills, leadership and service. The classes are conducted by police officers and staff.  Students come to the police station every Tuesday for a 4 hour session. The program currently supports 36 Explorers. This year the Foundation was able to offer 16 Explorers the opportunity to go to Las Vegas for ExCon, a competition for explorers from around the country.
